Keep the operating system up to date

Operating sytem developers are always coming up the ne and useful innovations, some of which help to protect our systems while others help to make the everyday tasks easier.

On the Windows Update site, The updates are arranged in order of importance, with the critical uploads at the top. Its is a good idea to check the site on a regular basis to make sure that there are no critical updates which are missed out on. Also check the site after installing a new piece of hardware to make sure that the latest and most appropriate drivers are available.

How to update the system:

• Go to the Start menu.
• Select Windows Update.
• On the site, click Product Updates.
• Clck Yes in the dialogue box that appears.
• Computer will now be scanned (No information will be collected ) and the site will display a suggested list of products enhancements. Choose which among them to download.
• Click Download.
• Restart the computer once the process is complete.
